I offered to explain to the coder what he did wrong if he would process my refund. I figured he would be grateful to know what he was doing wrong (it was a very simple error). Looks like I was wrong! Here is his reply: It is so sad when a person's pride gets in the way of learning something. Sure it's 'only $15' but it is the principal of the matter to me. At least he admits that he can't code for IE6. So my conclusion---Caveat Emptor!! (latin for Buyer Beware)
You only showed me the preview of the first page, Thats when I gave you the $15 quote. After I coded the template I showed a preview to you. And you said that it was great and you were happy so you sent the money and I sent the files. Then you said that it was incomplete (missing a subpage that I've never seen before). You claimed that I gave the quote for the main page and the subpage. Like $10 main page, $5 subpage. How can I give a quote for a subpage that I've never seen a preview of?
When I sent that email to him, he basicly ignored all the things I said, and he replied saying How am I scamming people? I showed a preview of what he was getting. You can't just assume that I've coded a hundred subpages. And you had to look at it and see if it is what you wanted. In this case you said YES, it looks GREAT and you sent the money. so stop writing complete BS, and stop crying about your $15. so let the people judge who is the scammer here.
HEAR THAT MYFROGGER?????? You can't just assume that I'll be coding a hundered subpages for you just for $15, and you can't just assume that I'll be making it cross-browser just because you thought so. I did report your false itrader that you left me, it'll definitely get removed and get you suspended for this nonsense that you started.
ok since you are quoting me I have to respond to this just to make sure things are clear. As a responsible coder there are certain responsibilities that come with the job. One of them is making the code compatible with all major browsers [firefox, IE7, IE6, Opera, Safari] which unfortunately includes IE6. So if your code is not compatible with IE6 I would not consider your job complete. The details about the subpage issue is not clear. So I will not comment on that. My two cents.
Ok I fixed the issue, And sent the edited files to him. Here is the proof. http://saiyan-raise.com/client/PleaseSurf/ test it in IE6, if you don't have IE6 use net renderer http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/
Yes xeongx did fix the code and now it works in IE6/7, Firefox 2, and Safari. I'm glad the seller did the right thing and finished the project. I will likely give him a second chance on future work if he is up for it.
I'm have free time this week, so I can do some work. If you wanted to add me, please write xhtml coding in the comment box.
