I started offering what I think is an innovative listing option at Ask Directory at least I never seen it on other directories. For an extra fee you can get an original written article about your site that goes in the detail page and you can insert 5 or 10 deep links on it, all with keyword rich anchors. We also put some related links for improved co-citation. I have seen several detail pages with deep links but never one that offered then inserted on a unique original article with other links for co-citation. The prices are added to the normal prices of regular ($30 one time fee) and featured links ($50 year) 500 words article with 5 links +$30 500 words article with 10 links +$40 Total price for a regular listing with original article and 5 deep links $60 EXAMPLE I think this option is a great way to improve SERP. What you guys think of this Cheers
I think that this is a great idea that offers submitters a lot of extra value. (IMHO a lot of people will be too cheap to pay for this, but that's their loss...)
Its a good idea as long as you have time to write the articles if you get alot of interest. Maybe you could reduce the word count because some sites might be difficult to write about and its the deeplinks that really matter. It will also allow you to have a special offer every now and then, something like 'free article instead of the usual $10'.
I got one suggestion, to make it more seo friendly, and if you use the details page of the links as a plateform for content and other links, you should change the url into something that contains keywords instead of hte traditionnal details-11255.html The price is a bit expensive also , it sounds like your directory is PR5 but it's not yet
This is a nice idea. It is an added value for your directory and customer. If possible, perhaps there is an option where the customer can write the article their self with lower price.
Very cool idea. I've been doing something very similar at List My Niche since the beginning using RSS which displays the links throughout the directory. While the RSS links don't produce PR, the actual Super Link and description page do make the SERPS and I can carry the feeds on my site and others for more exposure. Your example will produce results in the SERPS and maybe even PR. Good Going! I think that you will find most people won't see the benefit though unless they are experienced in SEO. I don't sell many of these types of links, but I'm working behind the scenes to improve. Good Luck and Great thinking!
Thanks for all the creative feedback.. Thanks! My main objective is pleasing customers interested in high quality, for the budget buyers there are a lot of free and cheap directories around. Unfortunately, some people are PR obsessed… I think word to link ratio is important, so keeping enough content to give it context is important. I am trying to implement the SEO friendly url Ask is already PR5+ not my fault the status bar doesn’t show it , also I find directory integrity, unique content and traffic to be much more important than PR. Trying to keep a high level of quality and uniqueness on the articles, If I do that people will use the same article they submitted to 469 article directories.
I like the idea as well. I also have something silimar to this on my feature listing option. And I agree that the only problem is that most people will not see the benifit in how it will help their site. I would not worry about price because those that understand the value of it will pay the money. Great idea.
Thanks for the support! No problem I work for the people interested, I just sold 10 detail page articles , if anyone is already listed and wants to upgrade please send me a PM.
Idea is good. Price is not too good, IMO. Experienced ones may also know where to buy links cheap My best deal was $25 one time fee on PR7
Cheaper is always better, on the buyer side but ultimately on free markets supply and demand move the market, no demand prices down, heavy demand prices up. I think a good link profile should have several different types of links. In my opinion good directories with high directory classification standards give the best co-citation value, because in 1 page you have several related sites.
I tried this out and am very happy with it! Here are the two 10-link articles that ! Ask ! wrote: http://ask-dir.com/detail/link-137.html http://ask-dir.com/detail/link-456.html A further advantage to this is that often in directories these detail pages go supplemental; I don't think that is likely to happen with this sort of content on them.
Great minds think alike! I am actually offering a similiar service except mine is within a blog + 2 free directory listings... See more here.
The innovative part is the merge of classical directories listings with articles directories and blog directories offering, I looked at your offering and looks like the classical listings but bundled.
Yeah, you were innovator with directories and I happened to think of the same way to integrate the unique content with links. Two very beneficial services in different ways.
Glad you like it, Among other advantages this also helps the listed site to avoid supplemental results and get better crawled, because he gets a direct link to a deep page. And off course to rank better on internal pages and to diversify anchor text.
Any particular reason to also link to Yahoo Directory, Alive Directory, Business.com, BOTW.org and DMOZ from those detail pages?
