$5000 for 5% would mean that your site/company is worth (at least to you and the potential investor) $100.000. Is it? What do you think yourself? You already got 10k-15 from your family, so let's say the company is worth $15k , that would mean that $5000 would buy someone 33% of the company.

But I PMed you with a trivial way to boost your active members, forumposts and to make the site instantly worth a lot more because of having a very active userbase which is exactly what the site needs.

I really like the site. has a lot of potential.

Having been a part of a number of large and smaller investments, as either an advisor or investee, I have to say that you should max out your credit cards, play your guitar on the street....whatever.....before you give away 5% of the company for 5K. If your site is successful, you will be regretting the day that you gave a guy 5% of your company for such a small amount. People have spoken about company valuations, roi etc. -forget it- your legal fees in documenting this transaction will add up to more than the actual investment - even if your dad does document the whole thing. Tread carefully before accepting offers because despite what people have been saying on the thread, 5% for 5k could be a very good deal.

I am interested to know what you think your revenues will be after 1 year and 2 years?

exactly, if you need programing or another service done with that 5k you're looking for, you can ask for the service in exchange for equity in the company instead.

    thanks everyone!

well I already had someone create the app for me, and I gave my word I would pay them. They wouldn't be interested in an equity stake.

is there anyone here with very advanced web-application coding skills that might be interested in a partnership or equity stake for developing future applications?

edc: thanks for the positivity :D I'm guessing my revenues will be in the millions in the first year and well beyond shortly after that in the second year. Once everything is implemented, anyone who cares about the direction the US is headed in would be CRAZY to not use this site. I have features planned that will get the common/average person who doesn't normally care about politics absolutely stoked on them and involved. I'm guessing that I will have one user for every 3-4 US myspace/facebook users combined that exist. Probably a lot more.

I also decided I'm going to be doing a direct-mail campaign to the Political Party HQs in the 1000 largest cities in the Country. I'll be sending an informative postcard to all of these organizations. This is going to cost me an additional $900-$2000. I could sure use some help. Anybody know a way I could do this cheaper? I can get as many postcards as I need printed for virtually nothing.

    thanks everyone!

    peace

"Write In Your Vote - putting the "US" back in U.S." anybody else have a clever slogan idea?
