Should off topic forums be public or private?

    Hello,

    Most forums have an off topic forum.

    Is it better to have it public or private?

    I'm not a fan of making entire sites private, but it seems that making off topic private so google and yahoo are not indexing it would make sense?

    What do you think?

    Well if you dont want search engines to assosiate your site with general chat I would make the off topic forum private.
