Off-page optimization in SEO

you are right, but these are very basic things in SEO. website optimization have too many factors we can not explain here in short.

 

Has anyone else tried this tactic and what have the results been like?

 

It's the best tactic to use. This way you can kill 2 birds with one stone, you get credit for the backlink, and you get the traffic from the people wanting to know the rest of the story.

good informative thing you have posted. like according to my point of view, offsite optimization can be done in many ways, like article submission, blog creation,directory submission, many more ways. these 3 you can consider to be ethical ways. among these 3 article submission is the most effective. many people do visit article sites and read the content there. moreover you can provide 1-2 links in the authors section. plz read the TOS of all article sites. thank you.

On page is important, but it's off page that gets rankings

 

Anything done "off page" is not optimizing. You cannot optimize your site when you are off site. You can advertise your site by getting links, and you can write optimized articles that point to your site. But there really is no such thing as off page optimization.

Yes links get you listed, but you aren't optimizing your site by getting links. SEO truly is relegated to your site and nothing else, it is confined to what you can control and change, backlinks are all part of promotion and advertising.

 

A site get more authority when it gets links from authority websites like Digg, Hubpages, or Ezine Articles.

 

yeep , they both play an important role in the SEO preocess
ans yahoo just more on page optimization issues

 

and for me --on page optimization is more abt the webdesign and development issue and more visitors concerned
(it care abt how vistors come to ur site feel )
Off page optimization--is more abt link development
and such as article submission , directory submission , social bookmarking , etc there are plenty mwthods to do so

Offpage optimization is another important things in respect of SEO, Keyword research, content Management etc. But after all that you should have to do onpage optimization.

 

the best way to boost your ranking from off the page...
- increasing one way links.
- get the links on various terms
- get them followed only
- get them over a long time
- preferred getting them from same niche

ways are many, check some threads here for getting backlinks...

 

I can add that having a blog attached to the website works great for me esp WP.Google loves it.
