% of parked domains as of 2008?

Is there a statistic of what percentage of all domains are parked? The number must be huge, like 60-70%. I swear, not only is it becoming nearly impossible to get a worthy 2-word .com, but every type-in I do goes to a parked page.

Everyone is using domain names as an investment now, instead of for a developed web site. Unfortunately it makes for many domains being unused.

Why don't you cough up some money to buy a good domain then? Many domains are for sale....I got some for sale :D

Or you can look in DP marketplace....or other marketplaces....

2007 was record year for domain registration, and it's no wonder there are no more good ones.

No kidding plenty of 2 word names around.
Just think outside the box even use a dictionary to look at 2 words together then say hay these could work as a 2 keyword domain name.
Buying them daily ourselves. 10 years now WOW where did the time go. Yes it is harder today but you earn what you work for right?
Ok sometimes we have to bid at 3 or so of those daily drop locations 60.00 / 80.00 (still cheap looking forward) but sometimes we just type them into our search and buy them for the those always happy under 8.00 lower prices.
Enjoying this forum and love our own portfolio.

the problem is , while domain names cost <$8 and parking will bring in about $3 for an average one, its hard to lose.
The internet is fast becoming the most advertised form of service in our homes.
