I've always heard that having a lot of articles via the blog (on a wordpress site) helps with SEO, as does the number of pages on a website. Why is this so? Does it help target the main domain URL, or any the inner pages of the articles?
Just don't stress about your on-site content, don't even think about SEO, but humans (that's who your site is for: the visitors). Make a website for humans and then you can have no problems. As for links to your site, of course they shouldn't just be to your homepage. You should ensure that your content is good on any pages and people want to link to it. Good luck!
