Odd thing happed to a site of mine. Maybe I have been sandboxed?

I have a site I put up and worked on content and things for about 5 months before I started to really SEO it. I bought about 10 links after 7 months of it being up. The domain is 9 months old.

For the past 4 months I have been ranking strongly at #1 for my site slogan, which is just a 2 word keyphrase that nobody really searches for (brings up around 1.1 mill in search results). Now I suddenly dropped to #11.

When I type in my domain name w/o the extension ("MyDomain" without the ".com") I used to always be in the top 3, not I am not even in the top 100.
I used to be on the 1st page of SERPS for a keyword that gave me about 8-15 hits a day and now I am not in the top 100.

What has happened exactly? I am not banned from Google since my site slogan which is a 2-word keyphrase is listed at #11. And I checked at iwebtools to see if I was banned and it said I was not.

no one here can tell you what happened, we didnt do the SEO on your site and beleive me none of us work for Google to tell you.

But you'll probably get a 3 page thread full of guesses and junk in broken english that doesnt make sense.

Make an update to your site, update your sitemap on GW, make your site cached and index more frequently by getting strong backlinks.

I really can't agree with you more, we can only give you suggestions but no one will ever know why exactly. Not even Google could be 100% sure since their bot is the one who manages the sites, unless they went and actually read the 500billion page log it has...

Can you share your site so that we can look at it as well as some keywords which you think you were doing good.

Also I would suggest you to be patient if the thing happened for say a day or two because Google always tend to give you surprises and as you have purchased links you may be overly concern about it

Hearing that you bought links makes me a little nervous, but I know a lot of people do it as part of their seo strategy.

It could be that the links you purchased have been "devalued" by Google so you've lost their effect. Moving up and down the ranks is failry normal anyway. Wait a few days and see if you bounce back.
