if I ever type "site.com" in inside IE, it'll try to launch "site.com" as if it were a file. this only happened after I installed google desktop search.

any idea how to fix this? :)

I can get around it by typing in www.site.com, but that's a bit more frustrating

I use the desktop search too, but I never heard of such problem. Try reinstalling it.

Google's desktop search is rubbish not to put too fine a point on it.

Copernic is a superior product and uses far less RAM than G's DS. Copernic also produces the results as fast as you can type, in all document formats.
