hi, Last summer,me with my parents went to delhi in the last week of may for getting my medical certificates.Medical officers asked me to come after 2 days.We are Non-localites and there was scorching heat in Delhi .So,we deceided to utilise those two days and planned to visit Vaishno devi mandir, which is located on the hills of Vaishno devi,Jammu and kashmir. We started from Delhi to Jammu in Jammu thavi express and boarded in a full packed coach. As we dont have ample time we travelled in a general coach.Journey period between Delhi and Jammu is 8 hours and we travelled 8 hours by adjusting 7 members in four memeber seat. After 8 hours of exhausted journey we reached jammu and from jammu we took a bus and reached katra of Udampur district and the journey period is 2 hours. We already wasted our 10 hours and still left with only one and half day.Not even wasting a single minute of time,we took a room at Katra, freshed ourselves and started for shrine. Shrine is at an altitude of 5200 feet and the hills are about 15 kms high from Katra. The people over their adviced us to take less luggage as it is difficult to climb with heavy luggage. Each one of us bought two sticks for support and started our adventure. We started at 10pm and reached at 8 am in the morning.Vaishno hills were very steep to one side and other side there were very deep valleys and the path on which we were climbingis very narrow. When we started ,mandir seemed very near and the peak is clearly visible. We walked and walked hours to-gether with short breaks of only 5 minutes and finally reached. Already there were thousands of piligrims waited for the darshan. As VIPs were performing pooja inside the temple, the darshan was breaked.Suddenly there was a jostling. The place was very narrow with deep valleys on one side and steep rocks to the other side.Seeing the situation my dad insisted to go back without darshan.Me and mom opposed it as we had already taken many pains to reach the shrine.Hence we waited for two more hours and atlast we went into the temple. That was the first tym we went der and that too without any infomation. For our surprise there there was not any idol inside the temple except two rocks like structures and the preist explained us that those rocks are the incarnations of Devi. That was the first day in my life i din sleep fr whole nyt and keep walking continously fr more dan 20 hours. As we have short tym for Amritsar we started immediately after the darshan.climbing up was one strange experience and down was another xperience. It was in the mid afternoon we staretd again for our next destinatio,Amritsar. It was so hot and so many times we drenched in sweat. As we walked in the fierce hot my mom's sugar level decreased and started puking.Me and my dad felt very tensed. We gave her fruits,Glucose powder and ORD and she recovered after sumtym. Then after reaching Katra we started again by bus to Amritsar. In the midway to amritsar we came to know that the Gujjars were stopping the buses and had to waited fr 2-3 hours and atlast we reached the most beautiful, serene and sacred city in the mid nyt at 1:00am.We had had our bath and wen we entered into da premises of 'Golden Temple' we forgot our 36 hrs of pain.i cant xpress in words da impeccable beauty of da temple in the midst of da lake. Unfortunately,it was 2am in da mrng, and da temple was nt yet opened and in da very next day i had my appointment wid da medical officers and hav to go back to Delhi at anycost.Without entering inside da temple,we returned Delhi with down hearted particularly me.even till today the view of 'GOLDEN TEMPLE' whirls in my mind. This was my unexpected experience of journey from DELHI to JAMMU,JAMMU to AMRITSAR,AMRITSAR to DELHI in just 48 hours.......
