Odd error - they sent to my old address

I was wondering why my check was so late this month. I moved about mid-July, and changed my address with Google immediately, so they've been sending my checks to my current address. I finally got my most recent check, but they mailed it to my old address, so the post office had to forward it.

My profile on AdSense does have my current address still, so this is just a wierd one so far as I can tell. I emailed them to ask, since I certainly don't want to trust my money to the post office's ability to keep forwarding it to me.

Just glad it finally got here, though!

Why not use direct deposit ("electronic funds transfer")? Much quicker and far less likely to be loast.

I would have to agree. Now that the beta testing is done on EFT you will be much happier to get your money within a much shorter time frame and not have to worry about this problem in the future.

The reason was, all adsense account payments have been sent to adwords account addresses.

It was a google screwup, they sent the checks to the wrong address and have emailed people telling them that they will be cancelling their checks and the amount will be sent with next months payment

Luckily this didn't impact me, but hey, I'd be mighty pissed if it did. What gets me is the old, tough luck attitude, wait till next cycle.

There's got to be a lot of publishers out there seriously disadvantaged because of Google's error. I doubt we'll read about it, but I'll bet there's some legal action on their books right now.

    Not a pleasant picture.

    Cheers,

    JL

I don't have EFT because when I signed up for it Google said my account info was wrong. Go figure - CJ uses the same information just fine.

I felt kind of sheepish when I realized that this was only a problem because I didn't update my AdWords address when I moved, just the AdSense one. Still partly Google's fault for using the wrong info, but a problem I could have prevented if I had remembered to update both accounts.

Hmmm... My check was mailed to the wrong address as well (my un-updated Adwords address). However, I can get mail delivered to that addy, so it wasn't a big deal.

But, I got a different messege from google then what I've read here: they said if I didn't get my check, they would send a new one immediatly via expedited post.

Exactly, it's like the message they are sending out to publishers is 'don't try to make a living at this'. Correct me if I'm wrong, publisher's EARN THIS MONEY. Can you imagine if your employer said to you 'sorry we have made a serious error processing your paycheck, you have to wait another month'
