    Hey everyone,

I've been here for a couple months, and I thought I'd post a tip that I just started using recently that has allowed me to get the most out of my time on this great forum.

When you've found a category that you're particularly interested in, sort the threads in that category by their Rating. This will bring all the 5-star posts to the top of the list and let you see what people have found the most valuable.

This may be painfully obvious, but it took me a couple of months to actually realize how much it helps!

How do you assign stars to threads?

That's funny...I never even considered that!

Maybe it's some function of how much reputation is given to the author, but I'm just guessing.

And remember 1 star is not a good thing!

I'd also recommend subscribing to the forum so you can get daily or weekly email "digests" - it makes it easy to keep you finger on the pulse, so to speak.

As far as I can tell, most DP members don't use the thread rating system. It seems like some people vote ***** for their own threads and that's about it.

Personally, I don't think it's a good way to browse the forums.

Search by views. That shows what's the most populer. The most crummy thread could have five stars only because the topic is about some ones virginity!! :D:D:D:D

That's a good tip. I will try that one. Currently I'm subscribing to all the threads I find interesting and putting it in folders. :)

Nice tip. Thanks for sharing it. This will make my surfing experience on this site and other forums painless. I also hate spammy threads. Thanks a lot.
