Well. I am 17 and this time last year I left school as you do at 16 in England. I haven't got a job or started collage as I believed I would make a living online. However now it as been a year. I have realized one thing.

I have become extremely lazy. I have started to push my deadlines back for my own projects. So recently I have been looking at another option. Getting qualifications for Web related subjects.

I have been looking at avalible web design jobs in the UK. There are many in range of my location. They all have a very, very good salary. So I am thinking about getting a real life job designing websites and managing them etc. (Then as I am getting into a routine I should hopefully work on my own personal projects in my own time and earn extra online. As it is my dream.)

The only problem is. You need qualifications and experience.

As I am into the web thing anyways. If I go to collage and do all the courses, HTML, CSS, Java, PHP, etc. I will get qualifications as well as getting better at it all myself. So typically I could pay lots of money and go to collage and do all these courses and then hopefully get a good job after it all.

(I know HTML, and I know how to make websites. However I am not too good with coding layouts and I have never learned about making graphics and layouts using Photoshop.)

Would I be better off paying lots of money and comeplete all the courses or just learn web design straight up at home?

I need some good advice. As I need to get sorted with my income as I don't want to sponge off my family anymore.

(Also I will note. When I make my websites I end up paying for about five xHTML/CSS layouts as I like things perfect. Which ends up it costing me a bomb. Where as if I learned it properly, I could make it myself and basically only pay for hosting and the domain.)

If anyone can give some advice. That will be great. :D

    Thanks,
    BlueEew.
