Obtaining links from authority domains (.gov, .edu etc.) - easy as never

This is one way I found to get links from inner pages of really heavy sites with homepage PR5-6-7-8 for free.

The strategy is as simple as this: big sites usually have search fields on them where you can type your querry and get the results page. This is what I tried to use to obtain links and I succeeded.

First of all, the search script should use the GET method to transfer your query. The target page will look like:

/search.php?q=your_text

Type something to search for, something that will definitely NOT be found (i.e. "huipizdazalupa" or whatever). On the results page you will see the "search didn't match any reasults" message and/or the textbox with your querry in it.

Now let's have a look into the html-code...

<input type="text" name="querry" value="your_text">
Code (markup):
Now you can try to add some html into your search.

/search.php?q=">will this do?<

The majority of sites block html, change (") to (&quote;) and so on. Having checked >50 sites I have found 6 that do not block! And they have returned the following source code for me:

<input type="text" name="querry" value="">will this do?<">
Code (markup):
This results in an emtpy search box and "will this do?" like common text right after it. The only thing you need to do is add a hyperlink into your querry:

/search.php?q="><a href="site.com">some text</a><

Which results in:

<input type="text" value=""><a href="site.com">some text</a><">
Code (markup):
So you've got a dynamic page with your link on it. Now all you need to do is to index the page manually. I have tested this on the 6 sites I found (3 .gov's and 3 commons with homepage PR6+) and they all have appeared among my backlinks according to Yahoo! and I must say that they did appear relatevely high (3d to 5th page among 30k+ backlinks).

Here is a live example of such scheme:
(the website is in Russian but look for "HERE IS MY LINK" on a page to see how this works)
http://www.minfin.gov.by/search/?action=index&text=""><a href=http://www.most-postroit.com/>HERE IS MY LINK</a><"

Depending on how the search results page is formed, you may need to alter the patternts above for them to work. I have only given one, my first "test" pattern and the rest is up to you. And remember to check robots.txt and make sure that search results indexing is allowed.

Have fun! ;)

So can I just type this code into search boxes to get the link?

/search.php?q="><a href="http://www.jp-financial.co.uk/">Mortgage</a><

sarkin ruwa,
this depends on a site. So go ahead and test. If you are good in html and we programming, you are able to try all this out by yourself. I have only given an idea which worked for me. I'm not opening all secrets.

snowm,
I wouldn't say so. The site owners will never find them as the links are not posted on a site as people understand this. They are only genereted for the search engines.

So far none of my links have been deleted and nobody modified the search so that it won't work for me.

Good idea, but if you do it in the bulk, your site gets banned permanently.

good idea but the search engines won't index these pages because there's nothing of use on them right?

No need to swear - if you said that in English you would probably offend people, don't see why it's necessary.

Good trick though - I have thought about doing that, though never found anywhere to do it. What I never figured out is how the search engines index your dynamic "search" page, even though the site doesn't, say, cache the search terms and create links in the sitemap or anything. Probably Google Analytics, I would guess. The other question, though, is whether Google is going to index your amazing search page called: search.php?q=<a href...>? hmm... not sure.

Anyway, probably should be used with care! I wonder if there's a way of sort of doing it innocently...!

this is a good concept. problem is most the time it'll be a no PR ranked page where your backlink shows up. IMO waste of time blog commenting is better.

This definitely needs to be used carefully, but the SEs DO index that.
I have all 6 /search.php?q=<a href=...</a> pages among my Yahoo! backlinks (see first post), that's why I consider this scheme to be a valid one and trying to share.

I meant that what you have asked is covered in my first post already.
So such questions seem useless.
Anyway, nothing personal. :)

Yes, this will be a PR0 page in 99% cases.
But if the homepage is PR6-PR8, then such PR0 still counts and is of some weight.

Blackhat, not recommended, and most webmasters have protections against this type of sploitz that get rid of <'s and >'s and $'s. Surprised any major PR7 or PR8 site opens itself up like this at all.
