I am in need of a second credit card to get a personal account with paypal. However, I do not wish to do business with another bank at all. Can I get a second one in my name at my current bank? I do not want to open a business account at my bank. Can I possibly use the paypal debit card they issue as a second account? What other alternatives might I have?
Yes this can be done, you're not restricted to one CC per bank account... some people have tons. Talk to your bank about other cards available.. you can have one visa and another american express (2 different companies) for example.
Right But when you start off you don't really have any credit (which is much better than a negative one). That's another key point.. you may need a co-signer or proof of income....
Oh! I just read zac439's other post. He is going to be 18 in a month. I don't think zac439 has any credit since he is still young, but he should be fine if he is going to College or University because he can apply for a student credit card and most likely it will get approved. Are you from USA, zac439? I don't know much about the credit card thing in the State, but I heard you guys can apply for a credit card at 16 years old, right?
Yeah, you can get a joint account at that age. Basically, you share an account with a parent- and if anything goes wrong, they are responsible. Haven't had any problems with it, I've had my debit/credit for almost a year now. Does that add to my rating?
What do you mean by rating? If its paypal rating, no. They are based on positive transactions among verified users (so if a user doesn't file a complaint within 30 days of the transaction, that would be deemed as a positive transaction)
credit rating Haven't had troubles with Paypal either. Does that make me less at risk? Where can I see my score?
Log into your paypal account, do you see any numbers beside your username? That's where it should be located.
Just 1! Interesting, this should be increasing a great deal within days. I have done an incredible amount of business- odd that I don't have a higher score yet. Do you only get one possible point per possible seller? Or per transaction?
I believe its per seller.. so they don't count duplicate transactions from the same seller (because I have much less points than positive transactions that I have... but I also deal with the same clients over and over again). Also remember: just from verified users. This system is good... keeps your account "safe" and from paypal thinking it as suspicious activity in it
It doesn't depends on how many sale or transaction you have. It depends on how many verified buyers have sent u payment. If you customers pay directly using their credit cards (without PayPal account) or you customers haven't been verified, it won't increase your score no matter how many sale you have.
Another option would be to get a prepaid visa/mastercard from a company like wired plastic, so you know that you will be approved.
