I would like to know how most webmasers here count OBLs. Do you count all the links even it is embedded form the source website itself or only the ones that are made through comments? As far as I am concerned, i consider as an OBL only a backlink made through a comment. Thank you!
I try to nofollow all of my OBLs unless it's within the site or to an authority site. Otherwise I don't think about them much.
Outbound links are those that take you off the site....and you cannot have OBL in the source code and not on the page. OBL links can be in the comments, sidebar, text. Anywhere
OBL can be anywhere not just comment... I believe Google maybe other search engines look into javascript execution as well...but yes.. any links pointing to another website will be considered OBL
I think OBL's should be done as no-follow if they are not to your internal web pages. As when you will put do-follow to external websites then they would be considered as paid link and this can harm your website.
