It was announced today that President Obama is going to force U.S. automakers to not only improve gas mileage standards for American cars and trucks, but also he is forcing them to reduce green house gas pollution by as much as 30%. Is this a good idea right now, considering how much the U.S. economy and automakers are suffering because of the 2009 recession or is this the perfect time to make these changes - while the U.S. automobile manufactures are basically at the mercy of the federal government, because of the bailout money they accepted?
