"Bringing a responsible end" to the war in Iraq and refocusing on the broader region. "Marshalling a global effort" to secure, destroy, and stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction. Wants to add 65,000 soldiers to the Army and 27,000 Marines. He would consider military action in Pakistan in order to attack al-Qaeda, even if the Pakistani government did not give approval. "I will not hesitate to use military force to take out terrorists who pose a direct threat to America." "As President, I would deploy at least two additional brigades to Afghanistan to re-enforce our counter-terrorism operations" Refuses to talk off any options against Iran. How does this guy pass off as anti-war???
He's not anti-war at all. He's another big government statist selling the people on buzzwords like hope, and change. The only true anti-war Dems are Kucinich and Gravel.
Sadly I pretty much agree with guerilla. Although I do think that Obama wouldn't have got us into this mess in the first place and some of his rhetoric is designed to "look tough" - that kind of political posturing sickens me, but politicians feel they must appeal to the lowest common denominator... Unfortunately looking at the results of elections - that sort of thing seems to work.
