Talk about adding insult to injury. I've yet to see anyone given the Nobel Peace Prize advance of any accomplishment.

Its fairly obvious that the Laureate is nothing more than a politically motivated sham.

When I saw it in news, I was surprised. I am not really sure about the amount of work Obama has done for peace but I think that it has been given in a hurry.

I have to admit - While I was very happy to hear about this news because it shows how much the international community is behind us now that we have a real leader in charge. I was also very much looking forward to the unhinged lunacy of the right wingers as they responded to Obama winning this award... and of course they have not let me down! Thanks for the entertainment.

Bipartisan? I never claimed to be. I hate the term. I hate the mentality of "bipartisanship." I don't give a crap about it. The Republican party has made the whole concept of bipartisanship ridiculous by proving time and time again that they do not care about this country or it's people. They are willing to play politics on ANYTHING. They are disgusting and we should leave them behind.

I have absolutely no patience left for Republicans. NONE. If someone says they are a Republican then that's it. I'm done. I don't even consider that person's opinion anymore. I'm sorry but that's just the state of the modern GOP. Anyone that can still call themselves a Republican at this point isn't worthy of being taken seriously.

LMAO. Are you just trying to destroy any credibility you have left?

You seem to me like a fine example of everything wrong with politics.

Nonsense. Everything wrong with politics is the Republican party. The whole concept of bipartisanship is outdated. When one of those parties is stuck about a century behind the times, it makes no sense to even invite them to the table.

Finally with Alan Grayson we seem to have some movement in the right direction which is to forget the Republicans even exist and move forward. The Republicans will either adapt or wither away for good. Either way is fine with me. But the Republican party in the state that it's in now deserves absolutely no respect and no consideration.

And I simply do not care if Republican's "feelings" are hurt. They can either join the reality based community or get the hell out of the way.

If I sound angry, that's because I am. I am very angry at the Republican party and what they've done to this country. And I'm even more angry that they won't get out of the way now that President Obama is trying his best to clean up their mess.

You wouldn't happen to be spamming your own site would you?

There is already a thread on this topic. You did not need to post a new thread to promote your spam.

Then it should not be in P&R.

    edit:

Just confirmed you are just spamming your own website. Same one you were discussing here:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=12620214#post12620214

P&R is not a forum for you to promote your own website. If you want a review, post in that section.

Oh c'mon guys, give the man a break. I thinks it's just special that they gave the prize to someone for having the best of intentions.
After all, what counts in the real world isn't your accomplishments, it's whether or not you meant well. Let's hear it for good participation awards. :)

[or at least that's the message being sent out by our public school systems. Hey, they're teachers, how could they be wrong?]

This explains why Carter got it. Even after his lowered expectations and failings, (the only Non-Sitting President to receive the award) still had "good intentions".

Man, if all it took was "good intentions", we'd have world wide peace, and end to hunger, and no failing grades.

I think's intended to keep him from dropping as many bombs as he otherwise would in Afghanistan. I hope it doesn't deter him.

Interesting take. I get it. So this is a preemptive attempt at staving off further conflict through recognition for the hope that attempt will come to fruition.

Yes. I think the nobel people have stated that they don't just give the prize based on accomplishment, but rather potential to make inroads towards peace. I think they may want to influence him. Either that or they're just rimming him.

I once went to a camp where each camper won "camper of the day" award. You knew your day was coming eventually.

Maybe the Nobel Prize can do something similar. That way none of the worlds leaders will feel left out. They can all be winners! I nominate Sarkozy to get the next one. Buy putting his unqualified son in power he is doing wonders for the youth of the world. Where is his prize?

Could it not only also be (in addition to that) a consolation prize to that of the lost Olympic bid?

Further to that, could it be an actual attempt at accomplishing all of the above, while SNUBBING (rimming) the US as a whole?

Obama likely stood to gain more respect and admiration with a successful Olympic bid (in the eyes of Americans) than he does with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Are we not all just a laughing stock at this point. While many here think its a joke... the truth is, the joke might be on all of us.
