The only reason the price has fallen down recently is because demand due to the slowing economy has fallen, once the economy recovers so will demand for oil and gas, cutting off future supplies will only lead to $5 a gallon gas again.

Good for Obama. it's about time we stopped letting religious fanatics dictate what diseases we can cure.

If mccain got in we would have palin mock fruit fly research in the same breath and promising funding for childhood autism. Of course, All the while being oblivious to the fact that fruit fly research was responsible for identifying neurexin, A protein used in the formation of synapses - The connections between brain cells - Something vital if we are to understand neuroscience and develop treatment for brain conditions.

I have said it before and i'll say it again - It's the 21st century. get on board or get out of the way.

Yeah he's actually going to get to work on removing all 3 major Bush vetos.

    Stem Cell

SCHIP (The State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) is a United States federal government program that gives funds to states in order to provide health insurance to families with children. The program was designed to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid.)

    Torture.

I don't mind the stem cell one, the drilling for oil is the one I'm having problems with.

Agree w/ both of you on stem cell research.

On drilling I'd like to see Obama's administration review all the areas where drilling has been banned, all the areas where it is allowed and allowable and restate the case(s) for drilling in certain areas or not.

A lot of the bans on drilling are decades old. I'm sure it is mostly wrapped up in environmental concerns. These concerns may still be valid. In other cases they may not be valid. Go over all of it. Reeducate the nation.

How much oil can we realistically hope for by drilling. How much off the Atlantic Coast and more in the Carribean. How much in parklands. How much land is allowable for drilling and not being searched. Go back over the Pacific and Alaska.

I'd rather know a lot more and see decisions made on that basis then jump up and down screaming "drill, baby, drill" or the converse of saying never drill anywhere at any time.

Its a new day with new concerns.

Even as I speak to drilling the info should contain some estimates for how much oil and how long will it take. Put that into balance with other estimates for different types of energy production.

Then figure out where to emphasize efforts and money.

I'm sure the oil industry guys will say drill, drill, drill. Alternatively, T. Boone Pickens, is now saying wind, wind, wind, and natural gas......and some solar guys are saying stuff like....Here Comes the sun baby.

WTF is gonna work, how much is it going to cost and when will it deliver.

And will we be paying for this as taxpayers or will some businesses be doing it on their own.

    Teach me Obama-man.
