I've done a poll on Life Tree blog (see sig). Please feel free to take part in the voting. Guys look here, Sen. Obama is ahead. Are there any McCain supporters out there?
I've noticed that Obama is ahead in quite a few polls. Not by just a few points but by atleast 60%. Hopefully this is how the official day will pan out.
Obama is generally in the lead because he has been in the spotlight since the run for the democratic nomination. McCain was given the Republican nomination without much of a battle, and since there was no drama there the media dropped coverage on him pretty quickly. Obama and Clinton were fighting tooth and nail for the Democratic nomination, so they had constant media coverage, and Obama has just carried it over now that he is the Democratic nomination. With that greater coverage comes a greater awareness of the general public, and the public votes with what they know, and right now they know Obama.
If online polls were accurate, Ron Paul would be our next President. It was a hard decision, but I have decided to support McCain.
I dont care much but Im liking Obama, seems like a genuine guy and definitely more in touch than the current president.
The general view in Europe is that Obama is the new Kennedy (not sure if that's good or not). Certainly after Guantanmeo Bay, Iraq, Extraordinary Rendition etc there is a feeling that America has to apply for re-admission to the Human Race and Obama's seen as the man to do it. New broom and all that.
You cannot use polls to determine the outcome of the election. Lets be honest, most people who talk politics online are at a younger generation. A good portion of them will not go and vote. It is those that hate technology, such as the internet, that will be deciding who the better candidate is. Heck, I've not even decided who I am going to vote for yet. So please don't take this as anything it isn't meant to be.
Polls aren't accurate, but they are just an indication of what people are thinking. Some people might change their minds in the last minute of voting. Yes, I think online polls like the one here where not only Europeans but people of other continents think Senator Obama would make a better president, but in reality it's up to the US citizens.
i support mccain. obama is just media hype..nothing more... but think about the future of the world after person like him, will rule from white house..
McCain's 99 Problems - if you support McCain and do not recognize any of the items on this list do yourself and everyone else a favor and Google them to better understand your candidate. Some of them are not a big deal and are just funny but others are serious problems IMO.
You can't say any poll online is accurate. It's all based on your demographics, and the only poll that counts is the one in November that doesn't have an ulterior traffic ranking motive in mind. Obama being the next Kennedy is ridiculous. As someone said before, Obama is all media hype. If you actually visit any political news site that isn't so shamelessly biased (if you still think Obama is the best candidate, you probably have sites like move on . org bookmarked, or numerous news station websites/channels) trust me, your eyes will open up to the kind of guy Obama is, and even has been this entire campaign.
I can't deny there's a lot of truth in what you say, but that doesn't stop people (especially in Europe) from WANTING him to be the next Kennedy. Look at the reaction he got in Berlin, and yet his speech was basically "Let's all be nice to each other and work together for a better future." McCain could have delivered the same speech word for word (well, except for the bit about his grandfather coming from Kenya obviously) but it wouldn't have got a fraction of the reaction.
