I disagree completely, Captain Canaduh. The Supreme Court of my country, not yours, did not sympathize with terrorists nor start a post seeking sympathy and support for your friends. You may wish they did, but they didn't. Not at all. Your buds were defeated and he is behind bars where he belongs. I feel your pain, brohem
So it sounds like you are accusing him of being racist. I am not voting for Obama because 1. this 2. inexperience 3. energy plan 4. stance on moral issues 5. has no backbone to his campaign besides \'hope and change\' 6. economic policies 7. his security plans Pretty much everything. I actually look into people before choosing who I will vote for.
Corporal potato lies again. Are you aware that anyone can search Google and find U.S. Supreme court ruling on this matter? Why I am not surprised some one who still hangs on his fantasies about WMD even while Bush and NSA denies it, will lie about this too? It seems I defend more the principals that U.S.A were built on that you who are an American. I am sure your country founding fathers would have been ashamed to see that you call yourself an American.
Prove it. I challenge you to make a reasonable argument backed up with sources where the Supreme Court of my country, not yours, agreed with you. I realize that is a monumental task for someone who didn't just misspell collage once, but twice in the same thread until pointed out. The only time you have ever mentioned the US Constitution is when you believe it would benefit the kind of people you support. Your friends and those you support, are not principles of the USA. They are a lack of morals and values due to your upbringing. Neither I, nor the US, can be responsible for that.
Obama and Ayers both taught(think Ayers still teaches there?) at the University of Chicago. This wikipedia article doesn't say so but I have to wonder if that's where they met. It's pretty apparent that Obama has risen to where he is in no small part due to political calculation. The district he comes from seems to be a pretty militantly liberal one. In 2000 Obama ran against a former Black Panther for a representative seat and lost. Rubbing elbows with these types may have been politically necessary. Where Obama comes from he had to be careful to not be seen as a white wanna be or a "tool of The Man". I think joining the Trinity church and appearing sympathetic to radicals in other ways was probably just political calculation. (I've also heard Bill O'reilly say this) Also, although Ayers was a terrorist, he has gained apparent acceptance with members of the Illinois establishment, including Mayor Daley who issued a statement supporting both Barack and Ayers work in education. What I come away with when analyzing the relationship is that Ayers has become a productive, well known citizen in Chicago and there are a lot of people he probably has ties with, that by association could be made out to be "terrorist sympathizers".
Good lord, man. No, in answer to your question to me, "why are you having trouble with the titles of my posts?", None. You're making sound arguments, based in reason and good faith. Sad.
Ayers comes across like a real unrepentant cretin. He even said he doesn't regret anything about his activities in the 60s. Interesting considering he designed a bomb that exploded and killed two friends and his then-girlfriend. Many people would feel at least a twinge of regret over that action. Hopefully Obama disavows him completely.
Lexiseek, I believe he has. Beyond, I just see this as a complete non-issue. This seems about right: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1810338,00.html
Homebiz was tip-toeing around the "Obama outs himself as a Muslim" thread this morning, and, I guess, now that that effort is pretty much trashed, bumps this dated thread with a meaningless post to keep the conspiracy smear alive and kicking. Kind of like Dostoevsky's donkey in Crime and Punishment, the smear can be kicked, I guess, but with no life to it, the result will always be the same.
How did I tip-toe? I thought we were better friends than that, you should already know I do not tip-toe. I just try to have fun, that's the jest of it.
Lurking? Hanging around? Checking it out? Regardless, in a comically ridiculous thread about Obama "outing himself" as a Muslim, you were there when I was there; moments later, you bump a thread that hadn't seen any action in over a week, posting a completely meaningless post - might as well have asked, "how's the weather?" So, all the pics, all the posts - meaningless, just trying to have fun, that's the gist (or did you mean, jest?) of it?
Oh, I see. I was confused for a minute because I thought you were accusing him of having a subtle posting style.
gist (or did you mean, jest?) I' m not sure which to use, I kinduv like both. Lurking?.... Hanging around? .......I posted in that thread. The great thing about DP is they have similar threads at the bottom of the screen. I opened up the thread and thought of something to write and boom.....the post appeared like magic. I did not feel like posting, so I was reading and searching for images.
Yes, you did post in that thread - last night - and, as usual, MAN! Thanks for the substantive contribution - pics of a cat with fake explosives, and your usual cavalcade of Obama propaganda pics. Today, no posts on that thread, since it seems the thread's thrust was pretty well dead in the water, so you came to this, a dead thread, with a meaningless post. And all that work to write, in effect, "I like the color blue, too. How's the beer? No, dog's not bored, just old. Sure, the pool's pretty deep, but lizards swam yesterday." Against the DP TOS, actually, but knock yourself out, as usual, Homebiz. (NOTE; FIGURATIVE. PLEASE do not now do a reverse punch to your face).
