I do remember McVeigh and I do think that such actions may take place again if those at Fox News and the like don't chill out a little bit. They are definitely fanning the flames. They'll have a lot of blood on their hands if something like that occurs again. And the Republicans better watch out because they are becoming defined by these wackos.
I couldnt agree more. I'll tell you what. When Bush tried to profile Muslim Americans at airports via the Department of Homeland Security, I was horrified. In this case, however, I think profiling may be the only answer.
I think there's a significant difference between profiling someone based on their race and profiling someone based on their actions. That being said, I think political protest should always be protected by the 1st Amendment. It's only if things turn violent that the Government should be involved.
Exactly what I'm getting at. These racist and hateful republicans and Faux News do nothing but foment hatred and need to be watched very carefully. It seems the Department of Homeland Security would agree. Sure, but like you said, and I definitely agree, these "protesters" are ALL there at the request of the Neo-Cons and Republicans, and it would probably be a good thing to at least keep track of who is showing up to these things.
What about Obama's former pastor and Bill Ayers, all who are extremists? Shouldn't they be under surveillance?
Absolutely not! Bill Ayers is a respected member of Chicago society that is helping to groom young minds entering our American workforce. Why would you want to have surveillance on someone like that? And I'm sure Rev. Wright has good reason to say whatever it is the right wing smear machine says he is saying, if you don't twist it and take it all out of context. He too is a respected leader in the Chicago community who has and will continue to help to guide his downtrodden flock. Besides, these people helped get our president elected, I find it hard to imagine they would be a threat to our newly elected government.
Bill Ayers said he doesn't think he blew up enough buildings. Shouldn't that be warning enough that we should watch out for him. Secondly, as much as Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Ron Paul dislike Obama, do you think they would every sanction someone blowing up the President or commiting terrorist acts? Bill Ayers believed (and still does) that he did not blow up enough buildings in the 1970's. More importantly those who are currently under watch by the National Security are people who have "pro life" bumper stickers. Do you think that 95% of prolifers believe in violence against prochoicers?
If the criminal George W. Bush is any example of a pro-lifer, I'd say they all need to be under government watch. We just got through with 8 years of Bush spying on the good and innocent people in this country and the hate mongering Republicans didn't complain. Now that Obama is going after the real criminals amongst us, the tune changes quite a bit. Besides, what I think is completely unimportant. What is important is what the Department of Homeland Security, at the Direction of our beloved president thinks.
Cute dog nonetheless, but I am far more worried by the USA economy and its impact on the global economy rather than go gaga over a dog at this moment. The news should have better things to report than a dog when unemployment goes sky high and economic figures beg to be improved.
All the news reporting on the dog is really the fault of George W. Bush. If he hadnt run such a shoddy presidency, the news media would have no reason to get so excited about the president's dog at this point in time, even though it is an awesome dog, picked out by our greatest president ever.
So you justify Obama's unpresidented grab of power. The ability to shut down any hedge fund, bank, or mortgage company he deems insecure to the American economy. Or the ability to shut down any inter or intranet network once he deems it national securty. I guess you also agree with him when he is carrying on the spying programs started by Bush which you said Bush had no right to do. You can also thank him when you file your taxes and notice how many thousands of your dollars are gone thanks to increased government spending and reckless airmarks. I'm also assuming you agree with his breaking of a campaign commitment to have complete transparency in the government and that every bill would be allowed 5 days public review as well as NO LOBBIESTS IN HIS ADMINISTRATION! You also justify him closing down Gitmo and bringing all the terrorists there to the U.S who once released will have to stay in the U.S because their countries do not want them. Yep....tipical minded liberal. You guys make me sick Climb back in your hut and continue eating your Obam crackers and goats milk. Maybe you'll finally come out when you see that half the promises Obama made, he hasn't kept.
The difference is, America LOVES Obama, and so does the rest of the World. Unlike Bush, he can be trusted with these powers. If anything, we should give him more power to fix the problems with America. Quit being anti-American and support your president! Actually, my family gets money back from the government due to its size and low income. If anything, the amount of money I take home is going to increase under Obama. According to MSNBC, he is running the most transparent government since Clinton, a model of efficiency. You mean all those innocent people being held without charge or trial? Yeh I support that. They should put Bush in Gitmo, he's done more harm to America than any one of these so called "Terrorists". Obama knows that only when we shut down the places like Gitmo will we earn the respect of Europe, Iran, Afghanistan, and Venezuela. Unlike many previous candidates, Mr. O has at least kicked off practically every promise he made during the Democrat party primaries. I got a little worried when he started talking very much like the Repugs during the general election, but he has come through in a very strong way since his election.
What else could I expect from a person with your username. Maybe you should take a loot at this before you begin praising him. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=91286 And I cannot see why any sensible Ameircan would want the government to control their lives....anyone other then a socialist that is. Maybe its about time you join your socialist brethren in Venezuela under the leadership of Chavez
BTW: Obama's approval rating is at 63% on "tea bagging" day. I just can't think of anything more ridiculous than Fox News pretending like these "tea bagging" parties represent the "average American" meanwhile they completely ignored protests against Bush back when his approval ratings were in the 20s. It's off the charts nuts even for Fox News. --- ncz-nate: I'll admit that I changed my mind. I've actually got back into stock trading in a big way because I realized I'm really good at it.
Worldman, that link you provided is obviously an anti-government website. Some promises Obama kept... 1) Drop the silly embargo against cuba - In Process 2) Socialize healthcare - In Process 3) Allow the countless Democratic programs Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic congress had to move forward - In process 4) Speak with state sponsors of terror without precondition - In process 5) Increase spending on the poorest in our country - Check 6) Increase the size of government to deal with the needs of our people - Check Zibblu, you are right, as usual. Those people out there protesting are obviously not your average Americans but rather very dangerous right wing extremists who need to be watched. These people, at the bidding of Faux News represent everything that is wrong with this country.
Don't forget add all conservative organizations to the list of known terrorists: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/15/protest-grows-report-right-wing-radicalization/
