the hyphens and the .us hurt the domain. less than reg fees. imo sorry. But, I read somewhere that google doesn't distinguish between o-i-l.us versus oil.us. Might be a good thing for you. Dunno

I've had great success lately with .us domains. Not sure how i would monetize an oil related site though. Possibly target oil futures or oil investments.
