It simply shows how much more and greater importance the business and money matters are given... at the expense of all other virtues of life. But I also think it is unfair to single out and target only Bing and MS in this regard. There would be scores of many more people and firms doing similar things in their respective field. Regards, RightMan
Rightly said. I have seen many corporates compromising their integrity just for the sake of money. It is time we give more emphasis on honesty and integrity at the cost of money. Of course, it takes time to build characters
I think its safe to say that China owns this country. Doesn't the U.S owe them a couple of billion dollars?
Every search engines is doing this. The only way to change it is if they all said they will not let china filter results out.
Maybe they're trying keep them happy so they don't call in all the loans the US government has with them and bankrupt our country. lol Liberal biased NY Times blasting Bing in their *opinion* section... shocker. Anti-Microsoft drhowarddrfine creating a thread about boycotting Bing... another shocker.
"Microsoft fan-boy", lol! Good luck with that! Are you denying you're anti-Microsoft? Have you looked at your sig and your posts? lol It's a label YOU chose, I didn't have to. Anyways, Opposing data? Why? This is nothing new. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_the_People's_Republic_of_China http://news.techworld.com/applications/5233/google-launches-censored-chinese-search/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4645596.stm Both sides fighting about this need to save their energy. You're not going to change the Chinese government's minds and you're not going to stop a company from expanding into a market that requires these filters. It's very sad, yes, but nobody knows if refusing to filter and being blocked is better for the people or not in the long run. What's stopping them from just blocking all access to non-Chinese servers if these search sites like Bing and Google don't comply?
Are you otherwise? I am anti bad software wherever it resides. It's been there for 5 years, on other forums, since I learned how bad IE is, back when people used to think IE was a good browser. I feel vindicated, especially since I said, back then, that IE would lose most of its 95% market share. Now it's about 55% and dropping fast. It's not a label. It's a pointer I use to direct people who don't know any better. It's easier than having to copy/paste the links all the time. What you are pointing to is what I said earlier. Yes, the other browser vendors are doing something similar but not the same and Microsoft/Bing is the worst offender. Reread the article.
I thought search engines were supposed to be impartial? Why would a company like MS sacrifice the integrity of their own search engine in order to please some political agenda... ridiculous.
