Numbers In the Thousands - ???

I was VERY surprised not to see this in the FAQs, since they are ALWAYS there, for me anyway.

Mostly, I have just been ignoring this.
I couldn't figure out how to search for it.

Maybe 5% of all my results contain -
green numbers such as 9,995, and
red numbers such as -9,988, etc.

    What do these numbers mean?

(Sorry, if it is obvious to most folks, but I just don't get it!)

it means you have gained or lost that many ranks.

but since it doesnt index more then the top 200 until you are in the top 200 you are not in the top 10000...

so if you were at 199 then went to 202 it will show you fell like 9798 or so.

    get it?

    Nope.
    But thanks for trying shoemoney.

What is the significance of the number 10,000?
You mention 200 - but I only get SERP results up to 50.

I get these numbers when I have not budged from the top 50.

This stuff is probably obvious to software folks, but not me.
I need an detailed example, I think. I feel really dense today.

Why isn't there any mention of 9,xxx numbers in the FAQs. I would think that it would be the biggest question of all.

    Hey surf_dude,

The 9xxx just means that your site couldn't be found in the first 200 results (or lower if you set it that way). When your site gets back into the top 200, it will tell you that you gained 9xxx spots. I personally think the 9000 numbers are too confusing.. I'd rather it just said 'new entry' or 'not found' or something like that. Then again, as soon as you realise what's going on, it doesn't matter anymore.
