If you search for "Designer menswear" on yahoo the first result is my website best buy menswear dot com yet if you search on google its on page 12 ? Whats the difference? Would really appriciate some expert advice here cheers
Google & Yahoo! use different factors to create their SERPs, it isn't easy to optimize for both of them to rank high, most webmasters aim to rank on Google and not Yahoo! It isn't uncommon though to be optimizing for Google and see ranking increases on Yahoo!, vise versa.
yahoo and google both uses different algorithm to display the search result. So you can not compare their search results
