I still see your PR as 1. But the title is better in my opinion.

No. I guess that is my main problem.

    Thanks, I will email you.

Yeah, as I mentioned in my earlier post, it was changed based on a recommendation. I changed it back. Is "TSP Talk - Thrift Savings Plan Strategies" OK or do I need to work on it more?

    Thanks again!

It seems to be going back and forth between 1 and 3, mostly 1 lately. Could it be changing that quickly when I mess with my title?

It's my understanding that PR doesn't have anything to do with the title of the page. PR is calculated based on inbound liks.

Since I don't have any backlinks to my knowledge, why would it change during the day? This morning again I was at a 3, but now it's back to 1.

OK, since no one has an answer for that one, let me try this one...

My site has ~ 100 pages but only 7 are being counted. Is this because the pages are not all in the main directory but rather in subdirectories? Would I be better off putting all of my pages in my main directory?

    Thanks!

Oh and Bob, Did you get my email the other day? thx

I'm pretty sure G can hit pages in subdirectories. My guess would be that your site has not been "deep crawled" yet. More links/higher PR will get your site visited more often and deep crawled a little quicker.

My guess on your changing PR is that it changed to tht enumber of times your site is mentioned in other sites. Maybe, for a short period, one the sites "mentioning" you had a PR of 4+, then during the update dropped to 3-. That would explain the PR up PR down you experienced.

Sorry, but the title has nothing to do with the PR value.

Yeah, I'd love to know what the jumping PR thing is about too. I've a site that keeps drifting between 4 and 5. It does this several times a day, and has been for the past 8+days now.

The site is a large one and I'm wondering whether it has anything to do with the fact that it's still being indexed (ie progressive discovery, by Goobot - by large I mean **large**) ?

Any thoughts ? (I may well be on the wrong track, but this drifting PR is a new one on me - I've never seen drifts for so long before) :)

The rapidly moving PR is probably due to the Google dance. Google has multiple data centers, and your toolbar may not always get the PR number from the same data center. The data centers don't always have the same PR number.

This is 100% true. I had a site running for 3 years with a PR1. One fine day i pulled out 16,500 Pages out of Ezine articles and placed it on my sites article section. The PR of the site hit a 5 in one month. I tried that with 6 other sites and teh PR is a mighty 5 for all of them. The total number of pages does make a big difference in Goog at least in terms of PR. There seems to be the same traffic though and i havent seen any traffic rise.

actually, the number of pages on your website would matter for the PR. But for better traffic, it really doesn't matter, what matters is if you were able to market your website well.

Your discussion is extremely interesting, I am focusing on backlinking right now as my site is fairly new. This whole Page rank thing is still a lot to take in, but I know I need good quality backlinks to even start ranking:)
