I think that if the content is important then you should not ignore it. You should go for more pages.

I would say quality over quantity. If you have 10 pages all with the same words on, Google coulod dump many int he supplemental (or modern day equivalent). Also think of your customers - do they really want to wade through 100 pages to get to the bit of info they need.

Give your subject matter the number of words it needs, weave some keywords into this in a normal natural fashion, and get onpage optimisation right (eg title tag, h1 tag etc). Then get backlinks from a mix of sources.

What is the objective of your website? What is it that you want to achieve? The answer to these two questions will give you the answer to your question above. There is no point in creating 100's of pages if just 10 will do the job. Think about your users first. Make them happy with the content they will see.

First and foremost thing you should worry about is providing the best possible client experience, pleasing the search engines second. From the search engine point of view, the larger the web site (provided you have good quality, original content) the better.

it doesn't matter how many pages you use at your website, I think the key is the quality of contents.

page number doesn't matter. If you are having separate pages with the category then it will help you to get ranking for that particular page & keywords
