Number of link backs

Why does Google show only about a quarter of the true number of link backs to a site? Yahoo and all the other major search engines show the correct amount but not on Google. Is there a reason Google doesn't count all link backs?

I just checked my backlinks because I have seen a huge reduction in traffic in the last couple of days. I still have thousands of inbounds all over the place. Can't figure out the drop in traffic?

I think the big "G" is going through an update by the looks of it. I noticed a big drop like this for a few days before my PR changed and the amount of my backlinks had a big change. Also the amount of pages indexed. I am noticing big changes like this again.

Hold on to your hats! It's a bit frustrating but the increase in traffic after was very good. It's almost like Google catches up with you. hehehehe.. :)

Google doesn't, but doesn't mean they are not aware of them. If you do a search on google for www. yourdomainname .com you'll got more results for sites linking to your domain.

    This is a wellknown problem.

However, my concern is ... is the PR algorithm base on the ERROR backlink result ?

try "yoursite.com" . This shows all the backlinks google is crawling. yahoo & msn update backlinks very fast. G updates usually once in 3 months. G shows backlinks only from major sites.
