    Folks,

When you see a number of impression for a keyword say "100". Does this mean that there has been 100 searches on that day for that keyword... or the ad appears 100 times??

    Thanks

It means that the keyword/phrase has been punched in the search box 100 times. It also means that your ad has appeared on the search results page the same number of times.
The number of clicks on your ad is then set against the impression figure to give you the CTR. Thus, if there have been 2 clicks out of the 100 times the keyword/phrase has been punched in, you'll have a 2% CTR.

    Duncan :)

Thanks Duncan.... that would lead me to anohter question, when I use the overture tool for a particular KWD, it says that there were 500 searches in a month.. yet the impressions for that same KWD were 100 in a day... now is the overture tool way off here??

The overture tool is a piece of dung. It's only useful in getting a general idea of the popularity of a word. Don't count on it.

Sorry! No it doesn't. I means your ad was shown 100 times.
