Number of backlinks gained due to single comment

Hello folks,
I am doing SEO for a site. As a part of offpage optimization once i had done blog commenting. When i monitored webmaster tool i found that i gained 14000 links from that single blog comment in such a short time of 15 days. Please see snapshot attached. From where does this many links came. I studied that blog and it seems that there is no problem with it. Guide me is it bad or good. will my site get penalized for this?

 

Its good sign for your site, Search engine crawl your site on the basis of links. But it is highly recommended to check the quality of links. They should not be spam links.

First of all I would like to say congrats for that. But while thinking in google's point of view I don't think so your site will be safe! Clearly to say inlinks are to be gained gradually and naturally, and if you think your site has got 14K inlinks in just 15 days then that is no where possible unless your website is as popular as google or yahoo or moz.com

I would suggest you to search for the inlinks and request the webmasters to remove your links where ever you feel those as spam links.

Not at all! Metric shit ton of links from one single domain is never good. It might produce traffic, yes, but there's a high chance that Google sees it as purchased site-wide links and punishes you for that.

But.
I guess those are some sort of "newest messages" or "newest posts" type of links? Once got few hundred myself, but they should clear out sooner or later when Google crawls that site and sees that the links are no longer there.

 

Thanks BallyJames but i mentioned that i studied that blog on which i commented (throuhg which i gained massive number of backlinks) it looks nothing wrong. I AM WONDERING HOW DO I GOT 14K LINKS FROM JUST SINGLE COMMENT ON ONE POST.

You know those footers that might show like 5 most recent links or something? I guess yours got caught in one, happened to me once and I got few hundred backlinks to 5 hour old blog

If that's the case, then it should sort itself out sooner or later without any effects.

Appreciate your help. I checked the blog on which i commented and it looks fine. but i don't think that there are "so many pages/posts" on that blog (that may provide 14k back-link)

THIS! It´s simply a widget which shows the recent commenters with their link. The links will dissapear soon if you don´t comment there again. Point.

Hi guys..some newbie questions for you. Is it possible to get multiple backlinks from 1 blog even though we commented only on 1 page in it? I kept getting backlinks or so I thought from the same blog but on different pages in which I didn't comment on. Is it because the blog uses CommentLuv? Does the backlinks counts or just the one I've posted? Thanks.

 

Hey, I am pretty sure this links will get deleted soon and you will be left with 1
He probably showed your comment on some global place on his site (like sidebar or footer)
