I run a blog and I have one 160x600 banner, 300x250 box, 1 search field and 1 link only unit. Is that okay? I'm not so sure.

    Any ideas?

The best way to find out stuff like this is to check the official Adsense help site. There you can get a definite answer without worrying about people just guessing.

    Here is the official statement:

I agree less is more, I now just run one big block top left on my pages and my earnings per click are roughly 809 times what they were when I ran all three ad blocks. Of note I find the search box earnings to be abismal.

Search box doesn't earn anything at all. I find above the fold text only ads get some clicks even though small, it still has clicks.
