Guys have a question about ad units. Now while we are allowed 3 units per page, should we actually have those many on a page. I read that normally the first ad unit on page has the ads with the maximum payout per click(is this correct?). If thats the case, isn't a single unit placed at the best strategic location the only thing needed? Having multiple units say for a 2 column site with one in the sidebar, one in header and one in fotter would mean that sidebar has the costliest per click ads while if someone clicks on ad in footer the returns would be minimum? Is this correct. What are your thoughs, cos i have noticed that invariablepeople fill up the page with 3 units. (The reason am asking is that i am getting extremely low value clicks on my site 0.01$ kind and i thought that this might be due to too many ad units?)
well, the lower the amount of ads, the higher the payout, also, if you have one good ad section, that does not look like ads, your CTR will be higher, so in term, better. I used to have 3 ad units, header, sidebar and footer, but since I have only 1, my CTR has quintupled (5 times) and I make triple the amount of money, so Im sticking to that! rememebr, high ctr=high payout
