Post their website URL, I would like to take a look. I am wondering if a nulled version looks different then the real thing.

Since they are your friends, it should be easier for you to ask them if they were caught. We won't be able to know. Or you can email the piracy dept of VB and IPB with your friends' forums and asked them if they had been caught.

lmfao!! a surefire way to get them reported.

as for me, I always run legit software - its not worth having a forum go big then lose it all because you were too tight to pay the $180 to start with...

    be legit!

Yes, You should Report Piracy Departments, They will take actions.

Nulled version is same licensed, no need for license keys, as they are cracked.

Yup. As soon as they are found (and they will be found), vB will shut them down pretty quickly.

I like VB a lot, for those who can afford it, I normally recommend it, for those who can't I recommend phpbb3 or SMF. Never will I recommend nulled or pirated copies. VB is good because they did a lot of development works, coming out with better and greater versions each time. All these needs money. Support legit software developers and stop using nulled copies.

    Not true.

You can now get a keygen that will automatically generate a vb customer number and license number. It then inserts it into every vb file in the same place where a legit version has theres so if you have a nosey host, that wants to see if your vb is legit or not, the files look genuine.

You can even use other vb compatible software that checks to see if you have a valid vb license number, like photopost pro, and it will work fine.

Off course call PHP call backs are removed. Its now almost impossible to tell if a vb forum is nulled or not unlike a few years back when nullers would leave little signs of their work.

Of course, you can always submit any suspicious urls to vb piracy. But that depends if your a grass or not!

I dont agree that it "depends if your a grass" as we have all paid good money, and are supporting further development of vB, is it fair that others copy the work??

It's not about fair. I myself own a legit copy of vb but i would never tell vb if i found a site using a nulled copy.
The reason for this is because i have been brought up to not rat people out. If it affected me personally i would keep it quite from others but deal with that person myself.

However, i can see that other people, who have paid for a vb license, might get annoyed and report it if they dont have the same ideas as me about grassing.

Some Nulled copies comes without keygen, you can find. But i hate nulled, as it is a theft. Do you like to steal any one notebook, pen pencil etc ??? I think, no . So, why softwares :( :(

If you have no money, you should go with FREEWARES

I know but i was just answering mudassar when he said:

Also, a nulled version that uses a keygen is far more safer for people using nulled versions than if they used one without.

Well, this is the hard facts of life, beggars can't be choosers, strive hard and do well, earn enough money for a VB. Won't be very difficult to earn $180 online.

Probably because they haven't been reported or picked up yet. Simply that.

I think vBulletin have subcontracted a group of corporate bulllies to oversee this sort of thing now. Last month, I let one of my licenses expire and I promptly received an intimidating email from them indicating I had to remove the software or buy a new license etc. So I imagine it'll be only a matter of time for your friend before they find out about the nulled installations and "send the boys round" :D
