Today I've found some Indonesian/Singaporean just nulled my script and he's selling it on his website claiming as his own... What measures you sugest to track this guy's website down... I have his address , phone number and even picture but the idi* is not freacked out after the removal notice I've sent to him .... Also a site where I can see some legal samples to send to his domain registrar and hoster will be good. If you dealed with something like this please give me your input on this
At this point, all you can do it contact his host and have his site taken down. Each host has their own procedure, but it should be on their website. For finding a letter to use, try googling "takedown letter for ISP". It should give you a bunch of samples. Let me know if you have other questions. I would agree 100% with DeenaEsq. You need to contact the ISP that is hosting the infringing software. I would also venture to guess that this user has obtained it from somewhere else such as a message board of warez. -Bing
The user obtained the script from me (bought a license) and the decoded it,nulled and now is selling .. Also the letter to hosting company should be formal or informal ?!
I think the letter to the hosting company should be formal no matter what because if it wasn't formal that wouldn't help you greatly, I've encountered many problems with that, so talk to them formally and just explain to them what happen etc. What script is it btw?
I would absolutely consider a formal request, be it by certified mail or starting off with a phone call. What country is the user in?
Contact host and get his site down. Second, contact legal people in his town and do stuff that way as well. You might want to talk to Jason from http://www.theuniversitykid.com (his contact us has MSN in it). He's pretty good with this.
Just try to catch up IP. Draft a letter to hosting and domain provider. Whois info also will not help him , if you draft a formal letter and focussing on legal issues. What type of script you sold him? The website he is running is a warez or a formal board? Try to track down his customers - and tell about its not legal to use null. Also try to contact piracy laws internet companies.
the problem with this people is that they know the law in their countries are so relaxed if any regarding the net. your best bet is to come down hard on their hosting since hosting will have plenty more to loose than just some script kiddies especially if they host it outside of their countries. just try to have their account terminated.
I wouldn't bother trying to shut him down. Just do the following... - Make your script better so more people buy yours. - Use better encoding such as Ioncube to avoid this in the future.
I would at least try to contact his host if anything, but I sure wouldn't throw a lot of work down the drain just because someone stole and hacked a script that took weeks or even months to create.
