There has been so much talk about click fraud as of late and it's kinda getting boring. Perhaps we can come up with various solutions to make it next to impossible to do any real damage both to the advertisers and the publishers.

An earlier thread talked about the end of AdSense..thats a good question but is it really going to drop out cold turkey, not too likely. Also with the birth of CPA ads Google is coming out with, it may just be the stepping stone into a new breed of AdSense, not the end IMHO.

After awaking to 'keyboard-face' I thought of a couple ideas that may work for AdSense and would be quite easy for Google to integrate into the system. I'm sure it has been thought of, just don't know why it hasn't been introduced.

-Click control panel to set limit on # of clicks per IP or whatever.
-IP banning (ads don't appear for banned IP?)
-Find the average 'OK' click % per user and make that the max, per day. This would help prevent honest publishers from getting axe for no good reason.

    There are so many possibilities...

I don't think that we are very far from AdSense reloaded to come out with a much more secure system, I mean I don't really see Google shutting down the main source of income, but rather revise it or upgrade it.

Any ideas of how to make AdSense a more secure program for both avertisers and publishers? Please tell..

I have seen a script which will let you control whether adsense is displayed after so many clicks/views per ip, I thought it was http://www.asrep.com/ but its not, if I find it again, I'll post it here...

Yeah, I am aware of these, adlogger is another. What I was was refering to was that a similar program that was 'officially' integrated into adwords & adsense. Also those programs work kinda ok (not sure about asrep) but it's only made for the publisher and it may be vulnerable due to the source being so open... it's only a matter of time before some bored hacker plays around with it to find the weak points. However if Google was to create a feature in the control panel, it would be harder to mess around with not having the source code to look at or play around with, also EVERYONE is bound under the preset configuration by Google thus preventing click fraud and abolishing the "I got my account closed and I only clicked a few ads!???" kind of threads.

Point is, for it to work effectively, Google has to be the one that makes it, not another software company.
