Wow, do a search at Google for buddy icons and see what it #1 WTF??? I'd expect this from MSN, or even yahoo, but Google??? And it has been like this for several days now BTW, that site was just nowhere to be found, I have no idea why it popped up to #1 beating many "authority" sites
I see it too now, its something different its not normal serps notice h t t p:// w w w .google.com/url?sa=X&start=1&oi=answers&q=http://www.buddy-central.com/members/3.html
I have never seen that before, but when I click on it I get the pages from that site listed, like if I did a site: command search, but it only shows a total of 10 pages. If you do a normal site: search you get over 600 pages listed
The 'More sources' link only shows for me when I search google directly - not via the toolbar. The url google is presenting (google.com/url?) is a redirect and clickthru tracker they have been using on occasion for awhile now. There are threads here discussing it. This is obviously some kind of test or experiment. It is interesting, but if only done for the number 1 result, it is not very fair. Perhaps it is not meant to show all results from one site, but for a specific keyword that may have some extra meanings? That would explain the 'Buddy' being the only word used in the hyperlink, followed by 'Buddy Icons: 3352'... But the 3352 - some kind of count? A more specific search? BTW, I rechecked google before submitting, and it seems to be gone. Edit: Back again.
Nah, still there, and has been there for several days... BTW, I am discussing a weird glitch in Google's algo, so why did this thread get moved over to website reviews???
Strangely, I've got the firefox plugin that puts website thumbnails in with the google results. Beside that top entry there is no thumbnail. Now usually if there isn't a thumbnail available for that site there's a "pic coming soon" image. But on that top one there's nothing. Interesting *scratches chin*
When that link is clicked, the page shows this error! You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY b_time DESC LIMIT 1' at line 1 Failed query: SELECT * FROM buddy_blogs WHERE b_user= ORDER BY b_time DESC LIMIT 1
