I like it http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-ranking-factors.htm and i guess you would like it too
something that i read on that, have a look .... in case of google the speculation is that, meta tags are dead http://www.sitepronews.com/archives/2006/apr/7.html
I couldn't find any mention of keywords meta tags being used by any search engines in that link. Meta description was mentioned (in my experience Yahoo! does look at it), but nothing about the keywords meta tag.
Well i guess it just speculation.... experimenting the concepts on my one seocontest entry started a week ago..including keyword metatags working fine for me.... have jumped serps to top 50 like they say seo is not perfect, noone seems to win it all
Check out SEOmoz.org's list of on/off page factors for ranking. That is the most complete and up-to-date list right now, put together by industry experts. http://www.seomoz.org/articles/search-ranking-factors.php
Yes, the meta description is one source of the snippet that google shows under your link (though it doesn't seem to be used in Google's ranking algorithm.
The content may be good but I well never find out because the poor design of the page has put me off.
Remember the best sites out there are the worst designs Damm good checklist, working for me right now
