Thanks, I was on vacation last week! Just getting myself caught up on emails & Google news! Has Google released anything specific about Flash indexing?
I have seen this for a couple of years now, as I noticed one of my Flash pieces was indexed when I did a site:search once. Here is a link to an article from 2004: http://www.webpronews.com/ebusiness...IndexFlashAnInterviewwithMichaelMarshall.html I didn't look for anything more recent; hope this helps!
I just use site: command for my site and browse the result then I caught this and thought about the text I made in this flash file so. wow!
I had heard about this a while back but never found an article or resource about it. Thanks for the link, Tara. So I guess those of us who use Flash will now be putting more text into our Flash files shame it can't read outlined text, though... I know a lot of people who resort to outlining their text to avoid font issues.
Actually big G has been able to render a serp eval for flash files for nearly one year. Not many seo firms however knew about this development. I can tell you however, we discovered this fact almost 9 months ago and since then, every single client of ours utilizing flash on their site has reaped major serp victories because of it.
This is really interesting, if Google can read text on flash files, those over-loaded sites will appear again,... oh no!... please
