I think you may be getting incorrect information. Unless you have other examples of things going wrong. But I am fairly certain you are misunderstanding the point of the cartoon photo profile pictures.

no... the ppl who start those rumors are trying to get traffic to their own groups, ppl also start accidental viral campaigns, I had friends on FB saying the group is ran by pedos' and I was asking them why they'd think that and they'd reply "because my daughter (she's like 20 anyway) is getting friend requests from strangers after joining the group and so are her friends"... ummm der shit it's called Facebook and people hit on woman/ladies... and from there it spreads they tell their friends and the train starts rolling... all because ppl were hitting on them - they don't understand Facebook - it's that simple.

Sometimes I think you get friend requests from people whom you don't know simply because they are searching for someone else with the same name. The might be searcing for someone from their childhood etc. I don't think it is always necessarily a hacker or pedophile (not that you shouldn't always be careful and never confirm someone you don't know or open attachments) That is internet common sense

I have heard about this as well. I still don't see the point in this, how is this going to help prevent issues from arising? We can do it, as part of respect to the victims, but honestly, people come up with the weirdest things sometimes.

I think it is due to a segmentation fault in one of the programs. Probably a syntax error?
