I have found some sign but not sure if it is a good or bad sign. I do search my domain without extension. The domain itself is unique. I just found my domain name appeared for 43,678,550 results!! This has happened since the 19 days ago when my site ranking bounced up-down. The number is not reasonable. How could my site being appeared for 43 millions in search result overnight while it was only 5,380 before. However, I just checked across DCs a few minutes ago and found the number of results for each DC are different, between 5,xxx to 43,xxx,xxx. The 5,xxx number just appeared lately and it has some correlation between them and the ranking of my site. I'm not sure if other ones here experiences the similar. You may check by type your domain without extension and see the number of results. I hope this could be an answer for any one that experiences the jump in number of page indexation and on too.
Yes but does it matter? I do the same search twice for my domain and found huge different in gap of search results between 5xxx to 43,xxx,xxx. My domain has no space or dash in it so when you type the domain name without extension, the domain will be unique and impossible to have search results jumped from 5xxx to 43,xxx,xxx. You may try and see it yourself with your own domain. However, this has happened to only 5 sites from my total 43 sites.
I've noticed this too. Four weeks or so ago, for some of my keywords the number of results jumped to 10,000,000 where there were only 1,000,000 before. In the last couple of days though things seem to have stabilised back down to the older numbers of results.
