    Hi to all,

I saw many threads here in "link development" section starting with, get 1000 of instant backlinks or get 10, 000 for free etc.

You have to know that these kind of links are not helpful to your site but harmful, I would say...

As Google is God knows each and every tricks thats why it is so popular today...

So you may be thinking that without effort you started earning thousands of dolloars then it is your wrong through..

If you think of Google then you would realize how hard work it does...billions of pages are indexed in Google, instead of this it provides your accurate, quality and relevant search result.....don't you think that the search result is very helpful to the society? It is very helpful, it is also helpful in business growth and improving our economy...

So do quality work, make the sites which have meaning and link to those sites which are also helpful to the society and are related to your sites.....build as many as backlinks you can but build it manually, don't use any software and don't spam also..

I would like to tell you is internet marketing, online marketing or web marketing is mainly for small businessmen so it is good news as well.....(it is true that some people or some companies are making millions of dollars from web marketing for example, about.com, ezinearticles.com, ehow.com, you can say they are not small business but they have started from nothing, they were small one day and as a result of their effort they are so big today so you have to understand this thing)...

    ----
I would be very grateful if you correct my points through your replies as I'm not a master I'm also a newbie learning here to earn some bucks...

    Thanks
    Alex

Spot on Alex, but still few want the easy way like using automated software. Maybe they get instant success but not in the long run. It's a short lived success.

Sorry Alex but in my opinion you are wrong, the only reason Google would be worried about our economy is because they are not making as much money. If Google gave a crap about being an importance to society then every site on the first page of any search wouldn't contain ads and affiliate links, it would contain just the info you are looking for. Google is a business and like any business the bottom line is money, they allow people like us to add to their business because the more indexed pages they have about different things is the more money they make from people that are willing to pay for advertising in the search.

You say "link to those sites which are also helpful to the society and are related to your sites..." this makes no difference, the reason article marketing is such a great tactic is because big G loves content and if it cared about relevant links then article sites would be a bust. I have gotten sites on the first page of Google for multiple keywords with millions of competing sites just from commenting on blogs and profile links that have no relevance to my topic. I have also asked my times in this forum alone for anyone to give me an example of a site that disappeared from Google from spam linking and no one has yet.

People are so afraid of upsetting the big G that they shoot themselves in the foot sometimes, while you and many others are ticking away at getting just a few relevant backlinks others are dominating.

    Just my thoughts

Ryan, i respectfully deny with some of your opinions. If Google is a business and like any business the bottom line is money then people like us wont even survive. What if Google make this statement that only sponsored ads or advertised sites will be displayed, Google will get a lot of profit (this is business).

About link building. As you said there is nothing wrong in getting links from non-relevant sites but it wont add to your page rank. In the long run what if Google change their algorithm stating that only Page rank above 3 will be displayed in SERP. Even i diversify my link building strategy like commenting on blogs etc, they all bring good traffic, unique visitors, but no link popularity and in the long run maybe everyone should adapt to what Google Algorithm says to do so.

But as of now, one thing i would like to say everyone and as Ryan said never stop link building. Only reason i see that one should stop link building is when the client stops giving money.
Note: I'm not here for an argument, i respect everyone's opinion. But the points stated here is my point of view. Hope someone can add some insights or additional suggestions.

I totally agree, if google was a business out to purely make money then they would not care about listings and spend so much time, money and resources on developing alogrithms, instead all effort would be put into paid listings. You also wish to review googles mission statement for which is the basis of their business - http://www.google.com/about/corporate/company/tenthings.html

Ok, saying Google cares only about money was a little harsh but if Google only cared about providing the most relevant content for any one search then they would not allow anyone with enough money to buy the first three positions in the search. Think about it for a second, if their only concern was providing the best content then they would ban any site with affiliate links or any site that sells anything for that matter. They would only allow sites that have content with no arterial motive for you viewing that site. The content would then be real and informative instead of all these affiliate sites that tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy a product they have never used.

RyanDan's point was frank though unpopular. The issue at hand is that no one and nobody knows what Google algorithm is. Link building and Link development strategies are entirely based on speculation, conjecture and assumptions. There are two things I'm sure of and they are: 1) link building is continuous and 2) internal link building is a must.

Google Panda is all about quality rather than quantity. You should go for links from sites with high PR even though they are less in number as compared to a high volume of worthless links from sites with less PR.Otherwise you will either be banned or punished or removed from the index altogether and will never be able to compete with your competition.
