well it seems it was bound to happen eventually with all the chargebacks we were recieving and nothing we can do through PayPal because our item isnt tangible. This is an absolute disgrace to PayPal and I should take legal action for loss of revenue. I wont because i dont have the time, the money or the patience to go through the rings they would make me run around. links have been removed Code (markup): i had the links to where all these scripts were being distributed, but upon further viewing of the files, all copyright notices have been stripped aswell as the callback system that was used to make sure things like this didnt happen. I think thats the last of the scripts that we will be making to sell. http://www.sojdesign.com/products/1 I warn others about paypal and selling intangible items through them. It seems ClickBank could probably have been a better option.
Just goes to show the length some people will go to in order to make a few bucks at your expense. Unfortunately Paypal has always been like this, and I know that many who sell small items in large quantities have run into problems because anybody that files a complaint is deemed entitled to their money back, whether they have had the "product" or not. I would advise you to go with another service in the future. I know it's inconvenient as half the globe uses Paypal, but the problems that are encountered on a daily basis are more than enough to put me off. Nothing else you can do about it other than swallow that bitter pill and move on then I take it? Is it a substantial amount you're losing out to or is it more the principle of the matter? It might be worth shooting Paypal a complaint anyway, even if it does get you nowhere.
well ive had about 15 chargebacks, so it adds up. I think ill just stop creating scripts to sell, and work on projects for the uniqueness and to run them myself. I have taken it on the chin too many times, and whats even worse is when i filed disputes against the chargebacks, i was CHARGED fees because they won the dispute. I even had a buyer communicate with me, fixed every problem he had with not being able to download and such, and after 3 months he issued a chargeback. That was one of the worst parts.
Lots of ebooks, software, scripts, etc through various sites of mine. I rarely have a chargeback (think the last one was someone who forgot who he bought from, as he emailed me after he discovered his error and repaid me). So I use paypal, have for years, have no problem with paypal. So in counterpoint, I would say, use them with confidence.
