I've seen the same thing with one of my sites too.

Shawn are you enforcing these bounding tag changes yet (via your new scripts) ?

I've not had time to swap them out yet - I'm busy..

    ----------------
Edit: I just successfully revalidated (it wouldn't before, and i didn't change anything at the site, so i presume a tweak was happening :)
    ----------------

    Cheers,

    JL

Just tried to validate my site http://XXX.hattrick-furniture.co.uk/acatalog/index.html
I can see the ads but It will not validate?
    Is there a problem?
From a Google Seo point of view is a text link with the target anchor text better than a banner?

In case you are wondering, the main reason why is it was the first setup and was done before the caching system was in place. It was changed so it caches things properly and doesn't put such a strain on the ad server.

When you validate, does it tell you what page it can't find ads on?

Well, no surprise... it took over a minute to get there... and I'm on a T3 line. Plus, there is no ad on www.rouseindahouse.com, at least not on the main page.

Yeah, I know but then there isn't supposed to be an ad there is there? Its supposed to be on the showpost and archive pages. As for the time taken to get there, its been working fine for me and my users all day, not sure what is up for you.

So is there no way anymore to have it just appearing on the showpost and archive pages?

You can do it in just the archive (no need to do it in showpost) if you want... make your base URL the archive page.

Ok, I actually think I'll do it sitewide. The extra weight should be worth while.

    LATER EDIT

Ok, validated now. When it counts the weight does it include the ads in the archive or does that need to be set up seperately.

It doesn't look like the ads are being cached on your end. Is there anything in your ad_network_ads.txt file?

It still doesn't seem like it's being cached properly. Where is your ad_network_ads.txt file located? I'll have a look at it for you.
