I just banned a link dropper from one of my forums who is not very bright. I not sure what gave them away, but: their email address was their username had SEO in it (and the forum had nothing to do with SEO) Their IP address was in Pakistan Their signature was for a plastic surgery site in the Philippines (nothing to do with the topic of the forum) In their post in the introductions forum, they said they were from Canada People like that need to be removed from the gene pool.
I too block lots of these seo kiddies from my network of forums everyday....it was just this one had to be the dumbest of the lot.
Haha, I agree. I think then it would even clean up all the seo blogs out there that spam the search engines with junk results.
To make it even funnier, he turned up on my other 5 forums and I was able to ban him before he even posted a message -- that sure would have frustrated him (assuming it is a him!)
"Poster" is not the right word. They are another of the low life bottom dwelling scumbag of a spammer who need to be removed from the gene pool. Hopefully their sperm count is as low a their IQ, as society can not afford to have people like that reproduce.
Have you ever dealt with the spam of Iphone & Cellphone sales thread with prices and email id below, Don't know what they are looking for, Only an email id.
What's funnier is that 1) you haven't banned the class c of ip addresses the poster is coming from which allows the poster to continue and 2) you actually think any of the information you posted is unique and actually of interest or new to anyone who deals with this problem day after day. Depending on the software of your forums, there are antispam solutions that check against known bad ip addresses, emails and patterns. Take a looksee: http://www.stopforumspam.com
I did You found it interesting enough to reply to. I deal with 100's of these everyday. What amused me about this HUMAN spammer and what motivated me to share it was that they could not have done more to bring attention to themselves. I have a zillion antispam measures in place.
