    Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and SEO in general. I have lots of experience building websites but am hopeless at getting traffic to them! I was just wondering what people thought best for an article marketing strategy. Is it best to post my articles to ezinearticle (and others ... but what other ones are there?), or is it best to keep the articles on my site and publish them there. I suppose if I post to article directory, I'll get backlinks, but then if I have the article on my site it'll get indexed and people will find their way onto my site via finding the article in Google.

    What d'ya reckon?

    Cheers,

    Stu

Article writing and submitting in general has taken a big hit the last few weeks because of the way Google changed their algorithm.

I think the best way to go is to keep the articles (well written I hope) on your own site and try working on some backlinks from other blogs/sites similar to yours.

You cannot keep the articles in your website and post the articles to article links to article directories. You need to submit content and place links meaningfully in order the get back links from them. Though article submission wesbites has taken a beating in recent google rank algorithm update they still carry some important traffic to your website, so you can't ignore them completely. However its good to start with Directory submission before you can go for other link building/traffic building things

You could try getting the word out via social media sites. Creating a fan page whenever possible and creating posts whenever you submit articles too.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I've setup directory entries already - a handful of decent, hand-picked ones and a 300+ software submission for crappier links. I guess I need to keep adding some directory links every day? I also purchased some forum backlink building services, so was looking at article marketing and was just trying to figure out the best way to maximise any articles I write. I'll take a look at social media sites, but not I'm not really 100% sure how to fully utilise these.
