Not sure what to ask for a companies .com domain

    Hi all,

I was recently able to purchase a .com name from a very large company in New York that went bankrupt. There are other companies in other States with the same name, including the .net domain name owner, who is in the Midwest and looks to be a pretty large company.

I have never sold a domain name before. Can anyone give me any idea what a large company would pay for their .com domain name? I will offer it to the .net domain name owner first and let them know if they do not want it, I will be offering to all the other companies with the name. I would think the .net owner would want .com but who knows?

Any help or previous experience with something like this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

No ideas? Anyone know a website/forum that deals with this topic? I don't know if $100, $250 or even $1,000 would be fair asking price.

    Thanks.

hehe. No, it's pretty specific. It has to be to company that has it in it's name.

The domain name is ezfab (dot) com . The company that went out of business was called ez fab, out of NY. There are other companies with the same name in other States, like EZ Fabricating, Inc (they have the .net name), EzFab Design and Prototype, or ezfabrication.

There aren't that many choices for buyers in my opinion, but I would think the .net holder would want .com. And if not, maybe one of the others would want the accidental traffic from people thinking that ez fab has the .com name.

Who knows... maybe I threw away $10 and won't be able to sell it  I figured it was worth a shot...
