I have a well established video gaming site that is over a year old. It is a real site with a large forum community built in that has 350,000 posts and over 4500 active users. The site is PR5 and has been featured on thousands of blogs and news sites, and even on several radio shows and television shows. I haven't done much with trying to get much ad revenue out of the site because I run several sites (and am in college/frat) and just haven't found the time to mess with it, though the site runs itself through the social "web 2.0" aspect of it. It also gets about 10,000 unique visitors daily. I just started my first year of college and would like to clear out some of my sites that don't really interest me anymore, but since it is only making a few hundred dollars a month I don't know how I should go about selling it since I know it has much much higher potential for ad revenue than that. Any suggestions?
10,000 uniques/day is very nice. I'm sure you have a price range in mind.. tell us what that is and we'll tell you more.
Well truthfully I would be happy with around $2000, though I think it is worth more than that. BTW, the site also has over 100,000 inbound links according to Google, and over 421,000 according to Yahoo.
TargetedClix is correct, check out www.sitepoint.com - it seems to be where the big purchases are made. I would wait another month and monetize it more if you think that it would bring more money in. Otherwise multiply your earnings by 10x, and put that as your starting bid. and pray
$2k is hardly a large amount, I'm sure you could sell it here. If its a general video game site I might be interested, but I'm not interested in anything tied to a specific console, that would have a limited lifespan. If you do want to sell it please pm the url and I'll take a look. thanks
Post it for sale on sitepoint and see how your bids go. You can always close your auction if you dont see that people are bidding what you want to get for it.
