Cripes man! Look it took me 3 weeks to hit #1 for 6, count them 6 of my top keywords. Relax a bit. If you are worried about how the links look, use CSS to make them look better.
You seem like a sensible person to me. I hope you give the ad-network a chance. I have the same weight as you, and I have been happy with the results. Good luck and happy linking. As other people are saying in this thread you can just use text links and make them look however you want with CSS. Search in the forums for some code if you need help.
How can you complain and say your not satisfied after ONE WEEK of advertising on a FREE advertising network. Google doesn't show all of the backlinks, and the best way to do this is to visit search.msn.com If you think that results were going to happen overnight then you were either misguided, or inexperienced. I think ifyou had named the thread better you might have got a better response from members. Again.. only my opinion. Good Luck.
You probably dont read my messages. I checked MSN. For me, I dont see it as free as links could be sold, and I didnt expect so big results but was unsatisfied because I hated the big foreign unrelated grey 468x60 banners. You probably didnt read the messages of other people as well, as with this bad topic name, I got a lot of help, and might figure out how to get small links in my footer, which will make me way more satisfied. So I got quite some superb response from members. In my oppinion you are the one who is complaining. To all others, thanks, I go figure out how to change the appearance of the banners and try it out some more time (depending on how annoying it is to my users, only text links appear to have no influence at all, I have sold gambling links in the past without any complaints at all, so I probably keep the network for a month longer or so.)
I have 2 links now, on the bottom of my pages, with a total value of 20,000+. I will try it out 30 days and let you guys know my results.
I don't know if you are aware of this but PR is part of the weight calculations, you say your giving PR and getting links back from low PR pages but it sounds like you dont realise that you are infact being rewarded for the PR your contributing. PR, backlinks and size play a part in the weight calculations from what I have read. Kind Regards Matthew
Now that I am running links only, no big grey banners, things start to go better now. I raised 8 spots for a HIGH used keyword that I was ranked 18th on..... That means I hit the top10 and yes I already found the first 50-100 visitors today in my statistics. I am 17-24th for this keyword for 3 years already. So the change has to be done with DP. I saw 2 spots raising daily for the last 4 days, so maybe tomorrow Im even 9th, but even if I lose it again and go to the 18th spot, then I have been number 10th for a day and got 100 'free' visitors by using the co-op.... In other words, I think I might stay... Another funny thing I noticed: Since I am using the co-op my site starts to get better indexed by google, and the last few days I raised 1k in weight in the co-op... a few days ago I was only 20k, but now I am over 24k already.
More links has always meant more frewuent visits and deeper indexing. Welcome to the Coop Network after a rough start
see Dirkjan, now you see why everyone is raving about the co-op Now, How far will these 259 weight get me
it only gets better with time ... it only gets better with time. and when G gives you a PR bump ... you can look forward to getting your weight multiplied. coop rules.
ps - google is slow ... but 1 word keywords are very doable on MSN with coop. thanks to coop ... i've kissed the dreaded recip linking effort goodbye ... when you run coop ... it seems silly. i rather focus on gaining weight.
Dirkjan, I could be wrong here, but I think I read that you are only displaying two or three co-op ads per page. Change it to five! Your 24k weight will become 54k 54k weight will get you about 10,000 Bls approx. accross the network. Cheers and good luck!
Yes...welcome Dirkjan. In my experience (Dec 2004) it just keeps getting better. Be careful with your weight. Don't blow all your weight on one KW immediately release it wisely and slowly.
